  • Light: ZZ plants tolerate low light conditions but thrive in bright, indirect light. Place your ZZ plant near a north or east-facing window where it can receive filtered sunlight. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, especially during the hottest parts of the day, as this can scorch the leaves.

  • Watering: ZZ plants are drought-tolerant and prefer to dry out between waterings. Water your ZZ plant sparingly, allowing the top inch or two of the soil to dry out completely before watering again. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's better to underwater than overwater this plant.

  • Temperature: ZZ plants are adaptable to a wide range of temperatures but prefer warm conditions. Keep your ZZ plant in a room with temperatures between 18°C to 26°C (65°F to 80°F). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations, especially during winter.

  • Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix for your ZZ plant. A mixture of peat-based potting soil and perlite or coarse sand works well to ensure good drainage. Repot your ZZ plant only when necessary, as it prefers to be slightly root-bound.

  • Maintenance: ZZ plants are low-maintenance and require minimal care. Dust the leaves occasionally to keep them clean and allow for better light absorption. Prune any yellow or damaged leaves as needed. ZZ plants are also relatively pest-resistant, but keep an eye out for mealybugs or spider mites, especially in warm, dry conditions.
